Welcome to RGS Guildford Dubai

Our school is located in the Tilal Al Ghaf community near to Dubai Motor City and Sports City. We are currently accepting applications for academic year 2024/25 from Early Years to Year 9, and the school will continue to grow year by year.

RGSGD welcomes applications for admissions from pupils regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion or learning needs. We consider each application individually, considering academic ability, behaviour, and additional learning needs.
We aim to enrol pupils who have the potential to flourish in the academic environment the school provides, to benefit from the wide-ranging education on offer, who can take full advantage of the opportunities available and can participate fully in the life of the school.
The admissions process helps to ensure that there is a good match for the benefit of all concerned. It is our intention to create a harmonious and inclusive learning community where pupils can thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
Parents are actively encouraged to visit the campus and meet with both the admissions and academic staff. We believe that the choice of school is one of the most important decisions that a parent will ever make. As such, we take it extremely seriously. For us, the choice of school is about matching the right context for every child. If a family are Emirati nationals, they will be given priority in the admissions process.

Admissions process

We know that choosing the right school is a huge decision for a parent. We view education as a three-way partnership between parent, school and child, and work with the parents to help them decide whether the Royal Grammar School Guildford, Dubai (RGSGD) is the right place for their child. Where possible, we prefer to meet with the parents and child to provide all the information needed and answer any questions.

We are currently running waitlists across a number of year groups for the academic year 2024/2025 with a limited number of spaces available in Years 7-9.

Applications are open for FS1 and Year 7 - 2025/26 and 2026/27

The admissions process is a simple journey from initial enquiry to first day at school:

  • Make an enquiry and have a discussion with our friendly Admissions Team.
  • Visit us to get a feel for our school and meet our exceptional School Leadership Team.
  • Apply for a place by completing the online application form.
  • We will arrange for an assessment. The assessment will help staff ensure they understand the individual learning needs of each pupil.
  • We look forward to welcoming our new pupils into the RGSGD family.

We welcome children from age three, once they are toilet trained. We follow the same model as the English education system and take account of the child’s age on 1 September to guide their academic year group.

Inclusion

Vision for building an inclusive community.

The Royal Grammar School Guildford, Dubai (RGSGD) is committed to the inclusion and support of each pupil and believes that every pupil has the right to high-quality education. RGSGD welcomes applications for all children and understands that some may require additional assistance or different access arrangements.

“At its heart, inclusive education is a provision that is committed to educating all pupils, including pupils identified as experiencing special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a common learning environment. In such settings, all pupils have access to quality instruction, intervention and support, so that they experience success in learning. Inclusive education providers create a culture of collaboration in a landscape of mutual respect and equality for all. All pupils are given opportunities to be successful learners, to form positive social relationships with peers, and to become fully participating members of the learning community.”
- (Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework, DIEP 2017, p10)

In line with this principle, RGSGD encourages and supports all pupils, including those identified as having additional needs (often referred to as ‘pupils of determination’) and gifted pupils, to become confident, global-minded and enthusiastic lifelong learners striving to achieve their full potential.

We fully support the inclusive aims of the Government of Dubai’s ‘My Community’ initiative, which seeks to ensure persons (and children) with disabilities can participate in education, recreation, arts, sports and culture, establishing Dubai as a fully inclusive, disability-friendly city by the year 2020.

Our policy and practice are also aligned with the Directives and Guidelines for Inclusive Education (2020) and Implementing Inclusive Education:
A Guide for Schools (2019). RGSGD

To build an inclusive community and meet the standard school service requirements for inclusive education in private schools in Dubai (as per the Directives and Guidelines for Inclusive Education: Handbook for Schools p.27), RGSGD considers several factors when considering applications. The aim of this is to support the facilitation of a natural pupil population, our commitment to inclusion and the best possible support for pupils.
